Spiritual Gifts Survey

You are not here by accident. You are here as a part of God’s plan, and as such, you have a place and a purpose as part of our congregation. And God has “gifted” you to be used by Him in the life of Christ’s body.
Some Biblical Principles on Spiritual Gifts

  • 1 Peter 4:7-11
    • Every Christian has at least one gift from God.
    • It is to be used to serve others, thereby administering God's grace in its forms.
    • God will supply the strength or power to exercise the gift(s).
    • God is to be praised as the gift is used.
  • Romans 12:1-8
    • We are to offer ourselves as living (as opposed to, dead) sacrifices to God.
    • We have different gifts, according to God’s grace.
    • We are to discover, rather than be ignorant, of our gift(s).
    • We are to use our gift(s), not in arrogance toward others, but soberly and in the measure of faith God has given to us.
  • 1 Corinthians 12:4-11 (more fully: chapters 12-14)
    • The same Spirit gives a diversity of gifts as He determines.
    • They are given for the common good.
    • Gifts are not to be used to divide or weaken the body of Christ (the Church), but to show love and concern for each person; to build up the church.
    • All should be done in a fitting, orderly, and submissive way.
    • All gifts are effective to the degree that they are used in love.
  • Ephesians 4:7-13
    • Every effort is to be made to keep the unity of the Spirit as we use our gift(s).
    • The gifts are to be used to prepare God’s people for works of service, to build up the Body of Christ, as well as keep us spiritually sound and mature in Christ.
